Drive to get the 10 Year 9-11 Anniversary Patches on all uniforms...
The 9/11 Patch Project has just kicked off the two year drive to get the 10 Year 9/11 Anniversary Patches on all uniforms before January 1st, 2011. This is just over a year to get this accomplished and it is a tall order.
We want you all on board—there are no exceptions—no one gets left behind. It is as simple as that!
This is the world’s 1st and largest effort to create a standard 9/11 Tribute Patch that will be shared among all firefighters, emt’s, paramedics, police officers and U.S. soldiers. It is about creating a level of solidarity never accomplished; it is about sharing common threads; it is about raising funds for related non-profits; and it is about honoring those that perished on 9/11 as well as those who continue to risk it all each day.
We plan to make these patches available in early January--stay tuned for updates on this.
You can talk about it--vote on it--kick it around or just cowboy up and make the decision to come on board--it's entirely up to you! If your strict uniform policies prohibit the patch on your duty uniforms, then wear them on your job-shirts, jackets or other personal gear.
Full size flags, dog tags, decals and other items with the images of both patch graphics will be made and offered in the coming months as well.
Preparation for the 10 Year 9/11 Anniversary event:
It is a huge undertaking to attempt to create and host the West Coast's largest 9/11 Memorial-Tribute event but I'm up to it if you are. The 10 Year Patches are being sold to help raise money for the preparation of this huge event, including the cost to secure a large enough venue. Some of the areas I would initially like to find out if there is support for are the following:
Guest Speakers, Parade of Flags, Honor Guard, Fly Over, Mobile 9/11 Memorials, Equipment Displays, Demonstrations,Exhibits
Please let me know as soon as possible if your agency would like to participate as well as what you can contribute to the event. Contact Brett Hill at 661-305-7476 or email: 911patchproject@gmail.com
Thanks!!
